Whether you are a large or small independent hauler, owner operator, or industry supplier of goods or service, the Pennsylvania Independent Waste Haulers Association will work constantly to promote your interests by providing you with information, resources and support to help maintain your business.

A PIWHA membership provides immediate returns on your investment, including:

Government Representation

How can you make your voice heard in the Pennsylvania legislature? PIWHA’s lobbyists represent you by maintaining contact with legislators and promoting our interests at every available opportunity. Periodic legislative reports keep you updated on pending legislation and PIWHA’s stand on the issues.

PIWHA provides leadership in developing and presenting positions of the solid waste industry on public policy and regulatory issues within the State; and regularly provides State and local regulatory bodies and the general public with information about the effects of current and proposed regulations for the solid waste industry and about the programs and activities of its member firms in dealing with issues of public concern regarding the health, environment and quality of life within the communities which they serve.

Education and Networking Opportunities

PIWHA through its regular member meetings provides opportunities for networking with industry veterans and educational presentations on improving your operation. In addition, Board Members are open to questions from members on improving the efficiencies of collecting solid waste and recyclables.

PIWHA Member Directory

PIWHA’s Member Directory gives our members access to a comprehensive listing of all our member companies; each entry includes a business contact, an address, and a telephone and fax number. Use this valuable information to establish a communication network with industry decision makers.

Membership Survey

Each year a survey is requested from each of PIWHA member. These surveys are extremely important for all PIWHA members, since the information obtained directly helps the Board of Directs accurately represent the members as a whole during potentially harmful legislation being presented on a state level.
