PIWHA WINS LEGAL BATTLE IN LYCOMING COUNTY!

But the counties have filed to have the case reheard by all of the commonwealth courts judges.

Lower Merion Township

The Pennsylvania Independent Waste Haulers Association has filed a petition for the PA Supreme Court to review the opinion of the Commonwealth Court which partially reversed the Association’s win at the Montgomery County level.
March 18th 2005

The law suit in Lycoming county has been appealed by the 5 counties involved in the law suit. The PIWHA legal councel belives that a ruling should be made with in the next 12 to 16 months.

State Representative Matthew Wright member of the 142nd district of the PA House of Representatives attended the March PIWHA meeting to discuss current issues that members were concerned with in regards to Act 90 and Growing Greener 2. PIWHA WINS LEGAL BATTLE IN LYCOMING COUNTY!

IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF LYCOMING COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA the PIWHA has won it's suite with regards to administrative fees imposed on ton's of trash disposed of in Lycoming County Landfill. The court ruled in the Associations favor and ordered the landfill to stop charging the administrative fees.
